Infertility Treatment Overview

Before you and your partner start looking into and jump into any fertility treatments, you should talk about how far you want to go and when to draw the line. Such as only taking medications or having surgery. If you plan out how you want your treatments, you’ll be ready and who knows, your plan may change. However, many couples have jumped into treatments not knowing where and when to stop, and have been exhausted emotionally and financially.
Treatment is not cheap, and you should always talk to your partner before deciding on anything. Most likely your insurance does not cover fertility treatment methods, thus you’re going to have to bear all the costs. See what you can and cannot afford.
You should remember that some fertility problems are more easily treated than others, and that once you are 35 years old or older, you’re chances of getting pregnant decrease significantly as each year passes. Thus, once you have sought advice from a doctor, he may recommend that you skip the beginning treatments that younger couples try.
And even though many couples seeking fertility treatment have successfully had a baby, it is not guaranteed that your baby will be healthy.
When you do go to your doctor he will run some test and try to find the cause of why you guys are having trouble getting pregnant. Sometimes the problem isn’t clear and the doctor may have to perform other tests because there is no diagnosis as in why the woman cannot get pregnant.
